Hemp milk is one of the easiest dairy free milks to make, and it is one of my favourites.
A massive PRO of hemp milk is the seeds don’t need to be soaked, which makes it super convenient when you have run out, and you literally have no waste because the seeds blend so well!
Hemp milk is one of the healthiest plant-based alternatives to cow’s milk. Made from natural hemp seeds it is dairy, lactose, soy and nut free. It works well in hot drinks and extra well in smoothies. It is great with granola and porridge too.
I have kept this recipe really simple, with just seeds and water, but feel free to add a tiny pinch of salt or a dash of maple syrup to sweeten it up if you like. Don’t hesitate to play around with your ratios depending on how creamy you like it too. I have tried making hemp milk with 1 cup of seeds to 5 cups of water, however, it didn’t heat very well when I wanted to use it for hot drinks.
Ohh and make sure you get shelled hemp seeds, as seen above. I buy this brand from amazon.
